Who's Who

   Bill Fannon
It was Bill's dream to work at Meriden, as he used to work at a nearby garage near the factory. It all came true when he was interviewed by Experimental Foreman Henry Vale, before starting work in the department in April 1966. He was Malcolm Uphill's mechanic during the successful 1969 Bonneville racing season, and then he joined the mass effort to prepare triples for the 1970 season.

He was seconded to work with Rob North, helping him get frames done on time, and also worked with Arthur Jakeman, making the three-into-one exhausts. Bill became Percy Tait's regular mechanic, but at the 1970 Bol cl'Or he looked after the Triumph-mounted French team.
