What is the WATOC?
Founded in 1997, the purpose of the WATOC is to create an informal platform for Triumph (related) clubs to share knowledge and join hands in making the world a bit smaller. To be clear; we are open to all Triumphs made in the UK.

Which clubs can be a member to the WATOC?
In principle the Triumph Owners Clubs of a country can become a member of the WATOC. Also clubs which specially cater for bikes which are more then 50% Triumph can be member of the WATOC. And example of the latter is the Triton Club of France.

Why be a member of the WATOC?
A club does benefit from the WATOC because we can share information about legal changes in countries, problems clubs have had, a stronger social bound between clubs. A club with 100 members is never as strong as a union of clubs with in total around 10.000 members. Also it can give rally going members more rallies to go to.

Members can benefit directly from the WATOC. Since the communication lines between clubs are shorter we can share information about rallies. Also we can link members of the clubs to other clubs. So there is less "cold feet" going to other countries and meeting people.

Every year there is a long agenda with meetings qualifying for the challenge, in general if you go to 2 foreign meetings and 1 or 2 local meetings qualifying for the challenge, you have made the challenge. With a list of around 20 events annually we can not ask too much.

Social Structure
Every club has an ILO (international Liaison Officer) and they are usually in contact via e-mail or do meet each other at rallies. Once a year the ILO meet in one of the countries. During this meeting we talk about the last year, the possibilities to improve the contact between clubs and the agenda and challenges for next year.

The WATOC has no board, there is no membership fee and there a no major obligations. To coordinate meetings and contacts there is a coordinator. The cost made during the year for badges and certificates are divided amongst the participating countries pro rato of competing members. And of course when you are a member we'd like to stay in touch and answer and questions if requested. And it would be nice to see the ILO or other representative of a club at the annual meeting, if logistically possible.

How can you become a member of the WATOC?
In principle it is not difficult. Check if your club is a Triumph(orientated) club. Then find out if the club really wants to commit itself to the WATOC in going to meetings and answering mails. Get in contact with one of the ILO's or the coordinator and ask if you can become a member of the WATOC. You are then invited to the annual meeting where you can meet the ILO's. During this meeting we can discuss if you and the other club benefit from being a member of the WATOC and if you have a structure which enable you to communicate with the other members. Then technically you can become a member of the WATOC. The only condition is that your events must be open for members on every made of Triumph made in the UK.

Rally Challenge
The most visual aspect in which we present us as WATOC is the Rally Challenge. This is a challenge in which we promote our members to go to rallies of participating clubs. Members who made the challenge are rewarded not only with a badge and certificate but also in meeting people in other environments and countries. There is also a winner of the challenge, this is the person who drove the most miles to the rallies.
