The answer has to be that it is a combination of various factors, any one of which would be
reason enough to attend, but when combined creates the BEEZUMPH RALLY - the premier event
of the TR3OC.
Organised by the Trident & Rocket Three Owners Club, it is Triple-orientated event,
but of course is open to enthusiasts of all British and European machinery, hundreds
of whom come every year to share the experience which regularly draws many hundreds of
active Triumph and BSA Triple enthusiasts to Cadwell Park. Some come to participate; some
come to watch. Those that participate experience the famous Full Circuit, giving the rest
of us plenty to watch. Beezumph is a two-day event; track sessions on both Friday and Saturday,
with the main event being the Saturday. Friday's track sessions are open to any British or
European motorcycle - not just Triples, but Saturday sees only pre-1984 British machines out
on the track. After Saturday's Track Action, there's a decent BBQ, Bar, and Band till late.
This TR3OC-organised event gives the owners of such bikes the chance to ride their machine
round the famous Full Circuit at Cadwell Park. There are just over 130 Track Tickets on offer
each day, and the event is always fully subscribed. For the Friday there are three track
categories, Novice, Intermediate, and Expert, and Saturday four - Touring, Fast Touring, Quick
and Race, thereby providing a suitable session for each ability.
As well as the the track sessions taking place, there are literally hundreds of choice
machines to admire. Lines of every conceivable Triple variant, hundreds of them, including
the TR3OC's very own Trident P1 Prototype and, at least three overhead cam Triples: Bill Crosby's OHC Rocket
3, and his Egli OHC Triple; plus Phil Pick's OHC Triple too.
The expectation at Beezumph 12 was to see at least 30 Triumph
X75 Hurricanes on site, to commemorate the 30th anniversary. In the end there was 67
including the very first documented
pre-production prototype - actually badged as a BSA - now owned by Phil Pick.
Expect to see standard T150T Tridents through to ex-works Rob North Racers and
Factory Prototypes.
Every year guests include many other ex-Triumph and BSA factory personnel, synonymous
with Triples and Triple racing. Expect to meet Ray Pickrell, Ron Chandler, Arthur Jakeman,
Jack Shemans, Les Williams, Ron Barrett, Norman Hyde, Rob North, Peter Williams, Frank Perris,
Steve Brown, Richard Peckett, and many others.
